Erek was raised on his family’s century farm near Waterloo, Iowa, where he continues to work alongside his dad each fall and spring. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business from Iowa State University and a law degree from the University of Iowa. He has represented clients in juvenile court, the Supreme Court of Iowa, and every court in-between. His practice is currently focused on real estate, estate planning, probate, and business law.

Erek is a member of the Johnson County and Iowa State Bar Associations and the Iowa Municipal Attorneys Association. He has served on the executive committees of the JCBA and the IMAA and on the Real Estate Section Council for the ISBA, for which he is currently the vice chair.

Erek and his wife live in North Liberty and have two kids. He has served on the board of directors and as a shift volunteer for the North Liberty Community Pantry, including as its chair in 2021. He has also been a member of the North Liberty Planning and Zoning Commission and was elected to the North Liberty City Council in 2021.
